Wout van der Toorn Vrijthoff is educated in civil engineering, city planning, and housing, and has worked in a range of roles, including: a concrete constructor for Dutch railways; a private sector consultant; Associate Professor of Real Estate Management & Development at Delft University of Technology; and commissioner, on behalf on the tenants, at Vestia Housing Association. His fields of research span: housing financing, with a focus on affordable housing; the national retail market developments; urban water management; and the future of the historic urban core.
