Director of the Future, Urban Splash

Suzy Jones joined Urban Splash in 2023 as the company’s first ever Director of the Future.
Suzy is tasked with helping the company tackle the challenges of future development, using foresight and innovation to develop the purpose led ambition of Urban Splash and the strategy required to support it. She is leading Urban Splash’s charge into the future while learning from the company’s track record of 30 years of regeneration, adding value and creating new neighbourhoods filled with homes, spaces for emerging businesses, creatives and makers, amenities and green spaces.
Suzy is known in the industry for her approach to future facing strategic thinking, environmental social and governance expertise and applied research & innovation using live demonstrators and event-based engagement. Her unorthodox career path has armed Suzy with a set of experiences which drives her to reach new and unexpected audiences and individuals who are underrepresented in the industry.
Prior to joining Urban Splash, Suzy served as the first Director of RIBA North, the Royal Institute of British Architects facility on the Liverpool Waterfront, where she established a centre for research and innovation providing access to new knowledge and learning for the RIBA membership and other built environment professionals and the public.
Whilst running RIBA North Suzy’s primary focus was the impact of Anthropocene change and the ways in which the profession could mitigate and adapt to changing planetary and societal systems, through design.
