Kim Power is a Principal Urban Planner at Arup. With a passion for creating equitable and inclusive cities, Kim specialises in inclusive place-making, stakeholder engagement and gender-responsive planning. Kim's work is driven by the belief that cities should be accessible and welcoming to all. She is committed to ensuring that urban environments are designed to meet the needs of diverse populations, including women, girls, and marginalised communities.
In 2022 Kim project managed and co-authored a global research project with the United Nations Development Programme and the University of Liverpool on ‘Designing cities that work for women’. The work received global attention and recognition, and shared a ‘gender-responsive project toolkit’; an inclusive way of delivering built environment projects. Through her work at Arup, Kim has contributed to numerous projects that promote inclusive and sustainable cities. She is a strong advocate for evidence-based planning and the use of innovative approaches to address complex urban challenges. Kim is also a member of the Liverpool City Region Women’s Equity Panel.
