Julie is an urban planner and designer with a focus on active travel and transport planning. Having graduated in 2016 with an MSc in Urban Design and City Planning from the Bartlett School of Planning, UCL, and a MSc in Public Policy, Politics, Philosophy, Economics from Sciences Po Bordeaux, France in 2014. After working in various private practices Julie has worked as a public servant for the London Borough of Islington, first as an Inclusive Design Officer and more recently moved into a team leader role contributing to a programme called people-friendly streets, focusing on repurposing streets as places for people primarily through the implementation of School Streets and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.
Julie's been a member of the Young Urbanist Network since her arrival in London in 2015.
This network's given me so much in terms of meeting people who are passionate about cities and expanding my professional horizons. Very few organisations offer young members a peer and mentoring support to develop their passions and aspirations without the formalism often found in professional bodies. I became a steering committee member to continue developing the network and the variety of formats and topics through which people can continuously explore dimensions of urbanism in line with their personal and professional interests.
