Jaffer is a sustainability consultant at BDP, responsible for developing and implementing sustainable design strategies for the built environment across all scales and sectors. He believes the built environment can be a positive tool to tackle the two biggest challenges of our time in climate change and social inequality.

Jaffer holds an MSc in Sustainable Cities from King’s College London. He is the youngest appointment to the Design Council’s Expert Panel, and was nominated as one of fifty global ‘Young Leaders’ by Urban Futures. Jaffer previously chaired the NLA NextGen Sounding Board and is a Local Pathways Fellow with the UN-SDSN Youth.

I’ve really enjoyed being part of the setup that makes the Young Urbanists happen, it’s been a very fun privilege. The Young Urbanists are a friendly bunch, and we all care about the same things, I’ve met some great people and had amazing conversations through the forum.
