A founding partner of Allies and Morrison, Bob Allies currently holds the newly-created post of Architect in Residence for the city of Bath and North-East Somerset, and a professorship at the University of Bath.
Recent and current projects by the practice include the London College of Fashion and the BBC Music Studios in the Olympic Park (carried out in collaboration with O’Donnell and Tuomey), the expansion of Wimbledon, and the reimagining of the Barbican Arts Centre. The practice is extensively involved in housing and urban regeneration across the UK, and is the masterplanner for many of London’s major regeneration projects including Kings Cross, Canada Water, Brent Cross Town, Woolwich Arsenal, Greenwich Peninsula and the Olympic Legacy.
Having designed the British Embassy in the 1990s, Allies and Morrison have now established a Dublin office and are currently preparing a masterplan for Trinity College.
Bob is a member of the Council of the British School at Rome and Chair of the Faculty of Architecture, and is Chair of Design Review at Design South East.
He is a member of the RIBA Awards Group, a member of the Council of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain, and a trustee of the Historic Towns Trust.
