Academicians and Young Urbanists are invited to join the Urbanism Awards Review process, to contribute their ideas and views and help us shape the programme for 2022.
The Urbanism Awards are the Academy’s primary platform for recognising the best, most enduring or most improved urban environments. We have visited, assessed and celebrated outstanding examples of good urbanism across the UK, Ireland and Europe. In the 15 years that the Academy has been producing the Urbanism Awards, we have visited, assessed and celebrated 210 Great Places [see reports here] across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Academy was unable to put on the usual Urbanism Awards programme in 2021, and instead, we focused on the people who have made an outstanding contribution to our towns and cities [see article here]. The five categories covered everything from politicians and public officials to community activists, professionals and academics.
This review aims to take a special look at The Urbanism Awards programme for 2022 and we invite you to help us to reshape the programme for this year taking into account the current challenging circumstances.
